The Springfield Park District and the American Heart Association are joining forces to tackle the childhood obesity epidemic among local children by hosting a “Go Healthy Challenge” on Saturday, September 27th at Lincoln Park and at the Nelson Center. The event coincides with the alliance for a healthier generation, an initiative of the William J. Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association.
The Springfield Park District will be hosting a variety of FREE activities at the Nelson Center and in Lincoln Park from 11:00-3:00 p.m. Activities will include jump rope, ice skating, hiking, tennis, soccer, disc golf, bicycle safety, and more.
The Springfield Park District and the American Heart Association would like to invite your group to support the event by volunteering. If you can volunteer some time and resources for this event pleas contact me at the Nelson Center at 753-2800 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Together we can all play a role in ensuring a healthier future for our children.
Please notify me no later than Friday, September 19th with a list of names and times available to volunteer.
