History

Founded in 1961, the Springfield Youth Hockey Association has a proud tradition of providing recreational and competitive hockey to the greater Springfield area.

The Franklin P. Nelson Center, built in the early 1970's, is home to the organization. Prior to that, the SYHA played at the old Winterland Ice Arena. Today, an indoor soccer complex occupies the former rink though traces of the hockey rink are still visible.

The SYHA celebrated it's 50th anniversary in 2011. To commemerate the occasion, players from years past were invited to play in an alumni game.

The organization looks forward to the years to come!
