Spring Hockey is BACK!!
The SYHA would like to welcome all families from SYHA and other organizations to participate in Spring hockey. Every year we aim to improve our programs to ensure a fun but developmental atmosphere for our players.

When
Teams will be selected after the evaluation and practices will be held for one hour a day once a week from March 20th until May 4th.

Spring Hockey Tournament
The Yeti tournament in St. Louis the weekend of May 5 – 7 has been selected for all teams to participate in.
Jerseys
Jerseys are provided by the SYHA. You will be prompted to choose the jersey's size.
SYHA players should use their assigned numbers.
Players from other organizations, include the jersey number you would like. If not available, you will be contacted by a member of the SYHA.
Cost
- Evaluations cost will be $20
- Spring Hockey Cost will be $300. Which includes 7 practices, 1 tournament, 1 reversible jersey
Evaluations fee is due at the time of registration.
Spring season fees are due in full prior to the first practice.

How to cancel the scheduled payment if my player will not play Spring?
If your player will not participate in Spring Hockey 2022-2023, please send an email to the SYHA by Friday March 17th, 2023.

Playing Divisions
Typically, in years past Spring hockey has been played at the age level a player will be the next season. Concerns have been brought to our attention regarding the player move up at the 12u to 14u age group. This is due to the big difference of “checking” being introduced at the 14u level. This is a valid concern as other organizations continue to play their birth year through the spring, and our upcoming 14u’s would be introduced into checking without proper instruction, resulting in a player safety concern. While we are working diligently to bring a “checking clinic” to Springfield prior to next season, this unfortunately will not help those for the spring program.
To give players and families more of a choice and potential safe option, we have come up with two ways to play:
1. If a family and player would like to play at the age level they will be next season, they can do so.
2. If a family and player would like to stay at the current age level, they can do so as well.
You will have the option to choose the age level you wish to play upon registration.
Again the SYHA is looking to foster a safe and fun atmosphere for all of our players as they choose to continue to play into the off-season.
