Coaches

SYHA Coaches Registration

This registration is for all Coaches within the SYHA organization. This includes all roles for ADM, Tier 1 & Tier 2 Recreational Hockey, and Travel Teams.

📌 Important Requirements:

USA Hockey Registration:

• All Coaches must register with USA Hockey annually.
• When registering with USA Hockey, please be sure to select MISSOURI as your state even if you reside in Illinois.
• Cost is $54 plus any affiliate fees if applicable.

USA Hockey Safesport:

• All Coaches must complete Safesport Training prior to supervising players on and off the ice.
• Safesport Training and Refresher Training are valid for one year only.

USA Hockey National Background Screening:

• All Coaches must complete Background Screening
• Cannot coach/supervise players on and off the ice until background check has cleared.
• Background check is good for two years.
• Cost is $30.

Note: USA Hockey is unable to accept background screens from other sports.

USA Hockey Age Specific Modules:

• All Coaches must complete Age Specific Modules prior to supervising players on and off the ice.
• Requires a USAHockey.com login (this login is NOT related to your USA Hockey member registration or modules).
• Cost is $20 for the 8u module, all others are $25. All modules only need to be completed once per age level.

USA Hockey Coaching Certification:

• Coaching Education Program Certification Clinic Requirements (Must be completed before Dec. 31 each season).
• Cost is $65. 
• You can only attend one clinic per season.
• All coaches must enter USA Hockey's Coaching Education Program at the 6U/8U clinic if coaching at the Learn To Play/Learn To Skate/6U/8U classification or Level 1 if they are coaching 10U classification and above.
• You can take clinics from June 15th-Dec. 15th each 
• All coaches that need a Level 1 CEP, or are up for renewal this season, can continue to coach as long as they register to complete a CEP course before Dec 31st.
• CEP course registration confirmation and completion certificate must be sent to the Competitive Teams VP: competitiveteams@springfieldkings.org
