ADM (6U & 8U)

The ADM (American Developmental Model) Program is for younger players that have graduated from a Learn to Play (LTP) Program either at Springfield Nelson Center or their local association if they have recently moved into the area. This program is for players beginning to play hockey that focuses on skating development, stick handling, shooting, and developing a love for the game of ice hockey. The two levels of play in this program are 6U (Mini-Mites) and 8U (Mites) and is for birth years 2015 and after. This program registers through the Missouri Youth Hockey League just like the Springfield Kings travel teams.

This program is a joint partnership between the Springfield Youth Hockey Association and the Springfield Park District.

USA Hockey Association is changing the way they label all their programs to numbers instead of names but both are provided here for your information while the terms Mini-Mites and Mites is being phased out.

Players and teams in the ADM Program may also participate in scrimmages, jamborees, and tournaments located outside the Nelson Center. These are NOT mandatory and offered as additional development opportunities for the players. More information of these will come as the program begins as well as throughout the season when information and opportunities present themselves. Additional information will be given by Jacki Patterson, VP of Developmental Programs, and well as team managers throughout the season.

All players will need to purchase jerseys and socks for the program. These will be available through the PRIMO Design website link provided by SYHA once the program begins.

Players will need the following:

  1. Black and white reversible jersey with the Kings logo as well as player last name and number
  2. Purple jersey with Kings logo as well as player last name and number
  3. Black hockey socks

Players and families will also have the opportunity to purchase Bauer warm-ups, optional themed jerseys, and Kings merchandise from PRIMO Designs through web links provided by SYHA.

Extra Costs

SYHA registration fee of $50.00 covers costs for SYHA to roster the player with Missouri Youth Hockey League as well as administrative costs associated with this.

Players may choose to participate in additional scrimmages, jamborees, and tournaments at an additional cost. Each event normally has a different cost that is divided amongst the team attending. These are NOT mandatory. More information about these opportunities will be given by Jacki Patterson, VP of Developmental Programs, as the program begins and continues as information becomes available.
