2026-2027 Fall Season
The Springfield Kings Youth Hockey Association is dedicated to giving as many young athletes as possible the opportunity to play competitive hockey each season. We offer teams across multiple age and skill levels, from 10U through 16U.

Petitioning
Any player that wishes to petition to play a level higher than their age MUST:
- Register for their age level.
- Register for the higher age level they wish to play.
- And attend BOTH age-level tryouts.
An email MUST be sent to Andy Meister at competitiveteams@springfieldkings.org for approval 10 days before tryouts.
Please include the following in your email:
1: Reason for Petitioning to a higher level
2: What the Player has done to prepare for such a move
(Note- Being approved to petition to a higher-level DOES NOT Guarantee a rostered position on the higher team.

Requirements to Register
USA Hockey registration for the 2026-2027 season is required before attempting to register for tryouts.

Checking Clinic
Checking Clinic included in Tryout's cost for both 14U and 16U.
Skater MUST be registered for Tryouts to participate in the checking clinic.

Registration and fees must be completed online.
Jerseys
Players MUST bring two jerseys to tryouts:
A light Jersey and a Dark Jersey
Jerseys should not have any type of identification on it such as name and/or player number.
Numbers will be given for players to pin on the front and back of their jerseys for tryouts.
Checking in at tryouts
Upon arrival at the rink for tryouts the first night:
- Check in at the SYHA table to your tryout number to place on the front and back of your jersey.
A member(s) of the SYHA Board will also be at the rink to help and answer any questions families may have.
Goalies Tryouts - All Goalies
- Goalies will be evaluated on their specific age group night.
- Those that are planning on trying out as goalie and Offense/Defense player must register as a Goalie at the initial signup. Then they will show up to be evaluated as an offensive/defensive player on the appropriate age-level night.)

Teams will play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.

10U $1400 ($1500 with Raffle Tickets)
12U $1400 ($1500 with Raffle Tickets)
14U $1500 ($1600 with Raffle Tickets)
16U $900
- New this season: Dues include $100 for 10 SYHA Raffle tickets.
Goalies all age levels @ 50% discount plus $100 Raffles. Limit 2 Goalies per Team.
10U/12U $700 ($800 with Raffle Tickets)
14U $750 ($850 with Raffle Tickets)
16U $450

SYHA Raffle
Season dues this year include the required 10 SYHA raffle tickets that each player is expected to sell. The team manager will distribute the tickets to each family at the start of the season.
Families who would like to sell additional raffle tickets may request more from the team manager.
All sold ticket stubs and payments from any additional tickets sold, must be returned to the team manager by the deadline established by SYHA.

Goalie Discount:
Any Family on an SYHA Travel Team chosen to be a Full-Time Goalie (limit 2 per team) will receive a 50% discount on seasonal dues. (This will not compound with multi children discount).
Siblings Discount:
Any Family with multiple children in an SYHA Travel Program may be entitled to a $100 discounted rate. This discount would be applied to the lower of the two due costs.

- Full Payment.
- Payment Plan: the first payment at the time of registration and 5 payments.

- Login: Use the same credentials as your SYHA online account.
- Notifications: Double-check that notifications are turned ON so you don’t miss important updates.
Jerseys
Club jerseys are required.
Each player should have:
- Club white jersey with white socks.
- Club black Jersey with black socks.
- Black Hockey Pants.
- Black or White Helmet.
Optional:
- Reversible Practice Jersey.
- Warmups Jackets & Pants.

- Returning Players - Players returning from last season can keep their numbers if they desire.
Jersey numbers for New Players Only
- Jersey Numbers are based on availability as well as birth year.
- Players born in even years will receive an even number and players born in odd years will receive odd numbers.
- Once registration is confirmed complete, you may select a jersey number from our "Clubwide Jersey Numbers". See screenshot below.
You may also send an email to verify if a number is available. Provide the following: Players Name, Birth Year and top three numbers.
sponsorships
- Sponsorships can be applied towards travel season dues.
- Players/Goalies MUST be registered before practices start.
- Register via Crossbar and choose the Payment Plan Option.
- Adjustments can be made by the VP of Finance once sponsorship monies are received.
- Sponsorships Forms and Payments are due by December 31st.
The Sponsorship Forms must be submitted with the payments to apply the funds received towards season dues.
